Intro to Sourdough is a relaxed, hands-on, all-day baking class that takes the mystery (and fear) out of sourdough. If you’ve ever named a starter, accidentally killed one, or wondered why your loaf looked more like a pancake… you’re in exactly the right place.

Hosted at The Artisans Kitchen & Cookery School in Hampshire, this beginner-friendly workshop walks you through the full sourdough process step by step, with plenty of time to ask questions, get your hands floury, and enjoy the rhythm of real bread baking.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn how sourdough actually works, without the jargon or intimidation. We’ll cover how to create, feed, and care for a sourdough starter, how fermentation affects flavour and texture, and how to mix, fold, shape, and bake dough with confidence. You’ll also explore hydration levels, shaping techniques, scoring, and how to achieve that golden crust and open crumb everyone dreams of.
